Today is #worldprematurityday, 1 in 10 babies worldwide are born prematurely but we know that although they may be very small packages our preemies are fighters and often astound us thanks to the commitment, love and expertise of the SCBU staff who touch the lives of so many. Today we want to salute our little superheroes and thank the Neonatal / SCBU staff who help to give our preemies the best start in their lives! Please share below your babies weight and if you want, a photo of them then and now!

THE INCLUSION PROJECT - CHILDREN IN NEED Have you ever wondered where the money you donate to Children in Need actually goes? All the cake sales, the Pudsey Ears, dressing up in your PJ's to work and school. How does the money you raise actually benefit disadvantaged children and young people in Jersey? The Inclusion Project is funded by Children in Need and I wanted to show you a little video of just some of the things we have been up to this year. From a project that started with just four young men back in 2004 to a Youth Project that has seen over 135 young people with disabilities and additional needs attend one of our sessions just this year alone, we are forever grateful for all the support people give us, whether that is through donating to Children in Need, volunteering with the project or just helping share our message to other families and Islanders. We currently run four youth club sessions per week for young people aged 11 - 25, and a drop in at Beresford Street Kitchen each Wednesday morning. We manage the holiday club play schemes for the primary and secondary students of Mont a l'Abbe, run a personal development programme each year for school leavers aged 16 - 25, a summer full of activities and fundraising events throughout the year. I shall be on BBC Radio Jersey tomorrow at 3pm at the The Salvation Army Cafe talking more about the project, and if you switch to BBC Radio 2 at 2pm tomorrow, you will hear The Inclusion Project's Top 20 songs being played on the Steve Wright Show! Here is just a snippet of what we were up to over the Summer thanks to another donation from States of Jersey Police. A huge thank you to all the staff, volunteers, families, support workers and of course Jersey Youth Service and BBC Children in Need for your continued support and help to make the project what it is! Our very own Inclusion Project will be on national BBC Radio 2 for a whole hour tomorrow as part of BBC Children In Need! We hopefully have a slot between 2pm and 3pm with Steve Wright to play our top 20 favourite songs. The Inclusion Project has been running now for almost 14 years. It started with about four young men on the Autism Spectrum who were in desperate need for somewhere to go to meet new, like minded people. This year more than 135 young people with a disability or additional need have accessed one of our sessions. We are incredibly lucky, and have been receiving the funding from Children in Need for a number of years Thank you again to everyone who supports us, whether that be through donations to Children in Need, or directly helping us in some way with Inclusion. We couldn't do all of this without you!
