Mont à L’Abbé School Vision Statement

School Vision Statement

We motivate our Learners by ensuring that all opportunities at school offer a challenge that meets their needs. We believe that by being motivated to achieve, all the young people in our school learn. Motivate, achieve, learn is a continual cycle for the young people at Mont à L’Abbé School.

Individual starting points & bespoke pathways

Motivate, achieve, learn is a continual cycle for the young people at Mont à L’Abbé School. We recognise the individual starting points of our learners and produce a bespoke pathway to move that child forward with opportunities for next steps and development of skills. We understand that some young people are not able or ready to learn without interventions which are put in place to move that learner to a place of readiness or motivation. We recognise that all behaviours are communication and that learners need to be supported to express their wishes and feelings.

The importance of teaching and learning

The importance of teaching and learning at Mont à L’Abbé School is the underlying principle that all children can learn and need to be given the opportunities to do so. These opportunities are provided by creative and passionate staff who understand how to develop and maintain opportunities to ensure that all learners are motivated to achieve and learn. Our aim at Mont à L’Abbé School is to ensure that we provide a broad and balanced curriculum which equips learners with skills for life and to leave school being as independent as they can possibly be.
